Kamuki deliver their second original on Spin Out after we saw their debut release out last summer.  Kamuki have gained support from DJ’s ranging from Drum and Bass Superstars Pendulum, who put Kamuki’s ‘Fashion Music’ in their top ten in Mixmag, to globe trotting Aussies Aston Shuffle, showing there is no limit to where the Kamuki name can go.  One half of the duo Luke Ashworth, was the 2006 winner of the Diesel U Music Awards and he went on to become the Smirnoff Experience Resident Tour DJ and have gained support from top DJ’s getting tracks played on BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM and XFM.

The original is intelegent and purposeful as this tune demands your attention.  A house synth eases you in before being taken over by distant sirens and a building lead line rising out of the rhythm.  An atmospheric breakdown builds to a melodic synth underlined by a dark bass, smashing back in with that four to the floor kick that first got our attention.   Adding a snare gives it extra energy as it builds to the melodic synth again and the whole track comes together. The track ebbs and swells all the way through keeping your attention and leaving you wanting more.

Workidz does a smashing job for the first remix.  His classic sound has gained him huge acclaim throughout the industry and what a remix he’s done for us.  Truly ‘main room’, this tune drives along with big techy vibes and a thumping bassline.  Using the stabs from the original he keeps some cool elements but really tweeks it to sound more like a driving, heads down, floor destroying tune.

The third track on this release, is Kamuki’s dub version which is much more dubfire-esque.  Pure techno is the order of the day here and takes a darker route to the original, taking a much more stripped back approach.  Subtle uses of synths and stabs push things along, and some spacious elements for the original give the track extra dynamics.  This version is for the more underground clubbers!

The fourth and final remix is Spin Outs Schitzengiggle remix.  This remix takes the basic elements of the original, using the stabs and synths to evolve the tune into a progressive, tech house track that wouldn’t sound out of place in the main room of any club.  A deep throbbing bassline kicks in with the use of the original stabs giving it extra pace.  The breakdown really gives the track it’s life as the tune rises and rise til it drops back in and your heads down dancing away again.

All round this is a package has something for all of the techy/techno/progressive lovers out there….  Reach for the lazers!

This release has been receiving some massive support from worldwide DJ’s including Stephan Bodzin (Herzblut/Systematic), Mark Knight (Toolroom), Funkagenda
(Toolroom), Anthony Pappa (Global Underground), Tom Findlay (Groove
Armada), Timo Garcia (Berwick Street), Nick Warren (Global
Underground), Reuben Keeney (SpinOut / Saved / sMACk /
Global Underground), Mark Antonio (Alchamy) and
Valentin ( Cafe Del Mar/Ibiza Sonica FM ) .
