Only a select band of electronic artists are able to take on a venue as grand as Brixton Academy. Anjunabeats’ Above & Beyond are now among them.
For their final date in the capital for 2010, Tony, Jono and Paavo will take centre-stage at the world-famous 02 Academy on Saturday 30th October – their biggest solo UK show to date, after years of consistently selling out venues such as The Gallery at Ministry of Sound in London, Cream and Godskitchen.
Above & Beyond are responsible for one of the most genre-defining trance albums of recent years with ‘Tri-State’. Respected as world class DJs, they are also rightly lauded as one of the most respected production outfits in electronic music with tracks like ‘Alone Tonight’, ‘Home’ and ‘Satellite’ proving their unique ability to connect with fans worldwide.
Their Trance Around The World show is aired on over 120 FM, Internet and Satellite radio stations across the globe and reaches 20 million listeners every week. In recent years, they have played to over 1 million people on Barra Beach in Rio Di Janiero and even been chosen to soundtrack the prestigious launch of Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo.
The trio are now globetrotting superstars, selling out shows across the four corners of the planet and redefining all that is great about dance music.
Coming off the back of their outstanding new ‘Anjunabeats Volume 8’ compilation, a fanatically attended Anjunabeach showcase at Cream in Ibiza (at Amnesia), the closing dance tent set at Glastonbury’s 40th year celebrations, and an appearance at the Electric Daisy Carnival, where they played in front of 60,000 people at the LA Coliseum, Above & Beyond continue to set the standard for others to follow.
Brixton Academy represents the latest step in their journey and their biggest UK show to date.

Anjunadeep:01 emerged as one of 2009’s most critically celebrated dance compilations, garnering album of the month slots and remaining in recommended album sections months after release, culminating in a nomination for best British record label*.
For the second installment, Above & Beyond hand over mixing duties to Anjunadeep A&R James Grant and Jaytech, their opening DJ of choice. Each mixing one CD, the pair bring together 28 exclusive tracks and mixes from the label’s varied and multi-talented roster.
Anjunadeep:02 demonstrates why the imprint has become the master navigator of the murky waters that lie somewhere between house, techno and trance, winning fans such as Laurent Garnier, Dubfire, James Zabiela and Eric Prydz along the way. Both discs showcase a unique melodic style that is spacey, hypnotic and at times soulful, underlining the widescreen vision of label owners Above & Beyond.
For CD 1, Grant’s mix weaves together tracks and remixes from 16 Bit Lolitas, Jody Wisternoff, Oliver Smith, Solarity, BT (‘Flaming June’ remix by Jaytech & Grant), and more.
On CD 2, Jaytech, whose artist album, ‘Everything Is OK’, received widespread plaudits in 2009, seamlessly blends productions from Paul Keeley, Martin Roth, Boom Jinx & Andrew Bayer, Marcus Schossow, Jamie Matrix and beyond.
“Scouts the secret alleys and distant corners of progressive music and returns bearing rare treasures” Mixmag (Album Of The Month) "Get up close to the speaker and you’ll hear that Anjunadeep is working on a sound all of its own" DJ Magazine “Euphoric not cheesy, soulful not syrupy: this is fine, trance-edged house with substance” IDJ * DJ Magazine 2008

When Virgin Galactic were looking for some atmospheric music to herald the launch of their ground-breaking ‘SpaceShipTwo’, they turned to Above & Beyond. At an event hosted by Richard Branson in the Mojave Desert, the track chosen to accompany the official unveiling of SpaceShipTwo was Above & Beyond’s club anthem ‘Buzz’, which was inspired by the Apollo 11 moon-landing. After the unveiling of the world’s first space tourism spacecraft, Above & Beyond performed an exclusive DJ set in front of an audience of 800 dignitaries, celebrities and soon-to-be astronauts, plus the assembled global media.
